An aggressive approach from the Indian side in pursuit of a result at Kanpur broke the record of fastest 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 totals in Tests. Yashasvi, Rahul and Rohit were the key contributors in this carnage.
Sixes Galore
Indian team and Openers respectively broke the record of most sixes in a calendar year in Test cricket. India's tally reached 96 this year while openers have contributed 38 of those, also a record.
Record Run-Rate
India played in T20 mode and registered a run-rate of 8.22 in its declared innings which is the highest ever in Tests for a minimum of 200 runs scored by a team.
All-Round Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja became the fastest Indian and 2nd fastest overall to achieve the double of 3000 runs and 300 wickets in Test cricket. He only took 74 matches.
27,000 for the KING
Kohli became the fastest to 27k runs in International cricket. He took 30 innings lesser than the previous record holder Sachin Tendulkar.
